On to Emmanuel College, Cambridge. Takes degree in Natural Sciences. Spends most of his time playing piano, frolicking with women and attending soirees at poet Michael Horovitz’s flat in Oxford.
Following graduation, gets job at Harwell Nuclear Facility as nuclear physicist.
Holidays in Russia in a hearse with Graham Keen and others. Upon return, is thoroughly “de-briefed” by MI5
