On the opening day of the Hyde Park Corner underpass three young men stand in the middle of the road as they measure out the gaps between letters before they paint filtering instructions onto the tarmac. They have yet to chalk out the letters P and I in the directive PICCADILLY ONLY: the rest has already been painted onto the road; London, October 17 1962
