On 01 May 1965 (May Day), Private Eye magazine holds a "Mass for Vass" rally in Central London for former British Prime Minister Alec Douglas-Home, a reference to his nickname "Baillie Vass". Peter Cook in a wheelchair pushed by John Wells fronts 300 marchers carrying banners, including Richard Ingrams carrying one proclaiming 'Hands off the Rann of Kutch!'
